I sometimes don't know what to post, so I thought perhaps you'd like to see some of my practice today. I worked very slowly (this is slightly sped up) through the Budokon Yoga Primary Series. This is a section in the series where we come to remembering our roots and our ability to crawl, using animal locomotive patterns to enhance strength, mental resilience, flexibility, plyometrics and mobility. 

I chose to do the practice for me today. It's always for me, but sometimes along with teaching and sharing I sometimes forget that my practice is most important and just being in nature, moving and finding personal freedom in that.

I've had a lot on my plate, with a recent personal bettle I'm about to face, and so it's helpful for me to find some focus, clarity and most importantly, my breath through this practice. πŸ™πŸ‰πŸ₯‹βš”οΈπŸ‘οΈβœ¨ 

It helps me to remember to be open to new experiences and to be present in them, despite them feeling uncomfortable. ❀️

This practice is hard, but it teaches you to tap into the inner Warrior within. πŸ”₯
We often force our bodies into spaces or intensities that we're not ready for. It's important to prime the body, to listen to it's calls, so we can develop an elite level of body intelligence and self awareness that can allow us to do those more intense practices with better precision and efficiency. πŸ‰πŸ”₯

If you throw yourself into giant movements without priming the joints or leave directly after explosively exerting yourself without doing a proper mobility cool down or warm up, that's when we get hurt or misunderstand what our bodies truly need to progress. πŸ‘οΈβš”οΈπŸ”₯

Sometimes slowing down helps us to speed up. πŸ™

Internal Resistance is the biggest reason I have found we do not achieve the desired outcome to any given goal. ✨✨

I've realised that it's a natural response humans have to anything that is perceived to offer a challenge, or a fear, or the worst...failure, to which we must learn to overcome. 

You see we are so focused on Success and achieving the Ideal Outcome...but what about Showing Up for yourself daily and committing to that journey and just simply being in that? πŸ‘οΈ

This is simply a survival mode and you're operating form autopilot mode. πŸ™ But, if you really want to experience growth and achieve those amazing things you see others doing, yet you feel stuck...

YOU CAN CHANGE THIS PATTERN. However, it starts with NOW. Instead of putting off the things you REALLY NEED, start dedicating time slots to do those things. Do the thing!

If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be that you've got to believe in yourself. I've realised how scary it can be to believe in yourself, because doing that means letting go of life as you know it. ❀️ I've done a lot of letting go over the last few years, but contrasting to that has been a lot of receiving too. 

Sometimes we must let go of old identities, shed our skin, to reveal a new, you. I used to hold so tightly to the idea of looking a certain way, being perfect. I was so tightly hanging onto a skinny version of myself, that it shrunk my whole world. I've taken steps to release her, from this identity as she wasnt serving me. 

It meant embracing a stronger, healthier identity and accepting the idea that this one might shift over time too is perfectly okay. We must keep moving throughout life, and not be stuck in it. βœ¨πŸŒ€

My weight on this earth is now more about the impact I have on other people's hearts, the lives I hope to inspire, the untapped potential I meet, the friends, community I make and the family I love. 

Knowing this makes the physical far less important and the heart essential. ❀️ Having said that there doesn't go a day where I don't struggle with this, so don't ever think there's something wrong with you if you do too. 

It hasn't been easy, but it's been worth it. I stepped on a scale for the first time in over a year...yes, I weighed more. But that weight is strength, muscle, health and no longer throwing up my food or restricting myself to the bone. 

It is being myself, enjoying a healthy life filled with beautiful experiences, movement, fitness, adventure, food, friends and love! ✨❀️😁πŸ”₯

This is the biggest thing - it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. The only thing that matters is what YOU think and feel. ❀️

My face says it all. 🀣 No, but in all honesty, ask yourself this question: Will I ACTUALLY benefit from just dropping in? 

The thing is I am not against it, in fact, I am all for mixing it up, trying out new things, and if you're a busy person I do get it. However, what I am not a fan of is those who want to Drop In, because they cannot commit to something. 

If you were really serious about it, then you wouldn't choose to Drop In. If you're going to Drop In, then at least commit to dropping in. 🀣 

The issue with dropping in, is that it tells your Brain indirectly that it's okay, I don't need to go if I don't want to. Therefore....YOU WONT GO! πŸ€£πŸ˜‰

No master, has ever just dropped in! If you want to see results and start experiencing changes, then you've got to commit to something! Whether it's just once a week or 5 times a week. COMMIT. βš”οΈπŸ”₯πŸ™πŸ˜Ž

I'm focusing on endurance for a little bit, especially after being so sick. I think we can all agree that the flu going around at the moment is pretty terrible. Anyhow, I've had to take time to recover, but after years of knowing my body, I understand how important it is to stay moving. 

I need to keep my cardio, strength and endurance up even if it means not being able to train my usual Jits, Muay Thai or Judo. These Budokon style HIIT sessions are amazing, the heart rate soars but they quick on time.

Over the past few days, I've been on an emotional rollercoaster with this whole USA visa crap. It is a bit of a mess to be honest. However, I'm left with the below words:

It's often the little things in life that show us there is hope, there is light in the darkness. Sometimes you just have to look to notice these moments. Today I felt so anxious, I could feel my monkey mind going crazy, and I knew I was overthinking and yet I couldn't stop. Thinking is a survival mechanism. There is a lot going on, and I felt as if I had let myself down in a way, which is ridiculous because my past, younger self, would only have dreamed of being the person I am today. 

But somehow the sunshine found me in a place you'd least expect (it sounds cliche) but it really did and it was a reminder that I am protected, supported and loved and no matter what we are always going to be okay. β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈβ˜€οΈ
