    {W A R R I O R  M I N D S E T} ⚔️🔥👁️ - Ironically, this isn't just about being strong, fighting, forcing...but it's more importantly understanding that there's a fine balance we must create. Even more so, we must explore our ability to Accept, make Peace, Soften, be Gentle, be Kind, be Compassionate.

Everything I've got now comes down to a mindset and a strong desire to manifest and create the life I want. It all started once as a dream or vision in my mind. You see, the thing is, you don't get given anything nor do you deserve it. You earn it, you visualise it, you go out there and create it. ✨ Although a lot of my work is physical with lots of movement, it is predominantly Mental. 🧠 

Having a warrior mindset means developing the ability to overcome fears, failures, setbacks and discomfort. It is a mindset that is action based and consistent. You can't expect change in your life if you're not ready to take accountability for that - YOUR LIFE. 🔥

I've learned that feeling like a victim only makes matters worse. Even when we feel like life is being unfair, like things are breaking, failing, folding and nothing is working...it is YOU and only YOU that can BELIEVE in your work, in your dreams and the life you want. So never let that passion fade. ☀️

So be the Warrior but remember my friend to soften too, - to let go a little, when you feel like you're squeezing too tightly to something you want so badly. Then fight! Fight when you feel like you have a burning desire to make it happen. 🙏⚔️🔥👁️💙🌟

    It's so important to allow yourself to let go sometimes. I love training and working in a structured format with sequencing or repetitions and focus. However, I love to Dance and I love being expressive with it, especially with a good old classic lol. 

I wouldn't typically share this, but I think it's important to be honest with you, I am a little crazy haha and I love allowing myself to move freely even if I'm a little rusty with my contemporary dance moves. 😅 It's nice to feel embodied and move!!! 💃

    Been slowly working on manna pike/l-sit variations in my calisthenics workouts. I attempted it without a wall today, first on the ground - this didn't feel too strong. So I attempted it with my little paralettes and it felt much stronger, as there is more leverage to hold the shape. 💯✅

This particular shape requires a huge amount of flexibility, strength and mobility in the backline and frontline of the body. It's heavy on the wrists and requires a lot of core compression and hip flexor engagement, not to mention shoulder mobility and strength and ofcourse shoulder protraction and depression. 🤸‍♀️⚔️💪😎

It's extremely challenging and a high level gymnast skill, so I am even surprised I can now attempt a variant of it.

Never stop challenging yourself. 🏋️‍♀️

I love calisthenics because it's so expansive and makes you extremely strong, both mentally and physically. 🔥💪😎

    If you are "doing your mobility" without much effort and treating it as a quick stretch, warm up or cool down, it is no wonder you're not making any progressive gains. 

People attend my classes and say, "wow this was so much harder than I thought it would be" or "I am always shocked at how difficult this is." YES 💯🙌 It is and should be challenging...

You should treat your mobility training as any other kind of workout or training. For example, weight training, you would treat it with intensity, structure, repetitions, focus, effort and train systematically. 

So in my classes, I make students work hard. We don't just "Stretch" (this can be hard too though) we move dynamically and actively building strength in your deepest ranges.✅ 

Don't run away because it feels uncomfortable 😖 Achieving the ability to move like Honey requires dedicated WORK and patience. 🙏

✨Here's what to know about Mobility Training: 

🔥It's not a warm up or cool down only. It's an actual mobility workout and can be pretty intense. 

🔥It's NOT stretching. Stretching is an aspect of mobility training, and being good at stretching means doing it with good intention and focus, not scrolling on social media or rushing through it mindlessly. 

🔥 True Mobility makes you a Stronger Human, but only if you know what you are doing and How to do it.

    One thing that I'm so glad I focused on and encourage other women, specifically, to do is to build your upper body strength. 💪😎🔥

I used to do so much HIIT cardio it's not even funny and lots of stretchy yoga type movement and dancing. My body was hypermobile and would often be in pain due to overshooting my abilities because I couldn't tell whether or not I was overshooting. My arms had very little muscle and were pretty skinny, and I had no shoulders or traps. 😅

Basically fast forward over four years of consistently training calisthenics and Budokon, I've built an incredible amount of strength and muscle...it's taken time and lots of hard work, and pushing through times where I've felt weak as hell but I'd never go back. 

Being strong in your upper body means you are more functional, you can trust in your shoulders to support your bodyweight, you have incredible grip strength, hanging abilities, strong back, arms, fingers and hands and pressing power for shapes like these above. 😎

I see lots of women who I teach come in with very little confidence in themselves due to weaker upper bodies and too much flexibility very little strength. Let's get STRONG and build an athletic body so we can live and perform long and healthy lives! 💪😁🌟

    Remember: every perfectionist and expert started as a mistake-making beginner. 🌸
    This week I've felt so short fused and my mind hasn't been clear, but rather cluttered and frustrated. I realised  how there's been a lot of stimulus on my central nervous system, my body and mind from training, competing, managing work load, injuries and teaching. Not to mention people, well, being people... 😂 

I realised all I want to do is practice, but for me, and to spend time being the beginner, being the student and moving or challenging myself for me. I've been battling to fit it in, and although it's been amazing doing all this incredible work, there's nothing that makes me feel the way I feel when it's just me and my humble little room to practice in. 🙏

I've not had energy nor patience nor motivation to do much and it's only because I realised this important thing...

🌟You don't have to do everything, everywhere, all at once. 

🌟It's okay to say no. 

🌟To focus on what you need to do for you. 

🌟To take your time and clear your mind.

    I thought about this a lot lately. [Relationships] 💙 as an adult nowadays are so crazy and I mean all kinds of relationships. We tend to either wall ourselves off completely from connection or avoid conversations that we know we should have because they're uncomfortable. And then when we actually do meet people who we admire, instead of opening ourselves up to them, we shut ourselves down. 

For what? For the fear of being let down? The fear of being hurt? Perhaps it's a communication problem. 

All I know is that it's better to have an open heart and mind with open communication to connect and experience rather than being so shut off, so lacking in self awareness to truly communicate and create or nurture meaningful connections. 

Perhaps the world of 'texting' or social media makes it easier to avoid and disconnect than it does to have something real. ❤️ 

I don't know about you, but I prefer to squeeze the juice out of life... ✨🥰 So have that conversation, open your heart, connect and make sincere effort for those you admire. 🙏

    All I managed today was this one arm elbow lever. A challenging movement, however today, just wasn't it. 

I have days like this sometimes where I really want to do big things within my training and then realise that my body has a different plan. My upper body has been sore and my hands are recovering from juijitsu training...sometimes we must just respect our bodies wishes and allow it to do what it needs. 

Honestly, I felt more frustrated after the session than before lol. So yeah, if you're feeling like this, it's better to take time to rest and reset. 🙏

    Working deep into straddle/pancake/side splits mobility is the build up to the Helicopter movement. Freedom in the hip flexors, groin and hips. Starting slowly first, building up the mobility to eventually become explosive and smooth with your movement. 🐉
